2 billion investment, 120000 servers! Baidu starts another data center

On October 27, the construction of Baidu cloud computing (Xushui dawangdian) Center Project (hereinafter referred to as "Baidu Xushui Intelligent Cloud Computing Center") was officially started in Xushui District, Baoding, Hebei Province. This is another super large data center launched by Baidu after Yangquan, and the first of three data center clusters built by Baidu in Baoding. Baidu's leading advantages in the field of artificial intelligence will not only be strengthened again, but also promote the construction of intelligent cities in Baoding and xiong'an new area, and will drive the industry in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to realize intelligent upgrading. Baidu Xushui Intelligent Cloud Computing Center covers an area of about 150 mu, with a total construction area of about 110000 ㎡, direct infrastructure investment of about 2 billion yuan, and can carry more than 120000 high-performance AI servers. After completion, Xushui data center will have super large-scale neural network, super large-scale high-performance computing cluster, trillion level search data, 10 billion level location data, 10 billion level image and video data, with the world's leading infrastructure technology architecture. Internally, it supports search, baidu brain, baidu intelligent cloud, Apollo, map, small program and other businesses, while externally, it enables AI capabilities to all walks of life through Baidu intelligent cloud. Xushui data center also applies a number of industry-leading technologies, providing a new standard for data center construction in the era of intelligent economy. For example, it uses the fourth generation of Baidu's leading data center infrastructure. It is also the first power supply and refrigeration distributed distributed prefabricated data center in the data center industry. It adopts the AI control system developed by Baidu PaddlePaddle deep learning platform based on the leading scientific and technological achievements of the 2019 World Internet Conference. It designs an average annual PUE1.15, and the infrastructure energy consumption is reduced by 70%. The annual electricity saving is over 200 million degrees, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 100 thousand households per year.
